At Discovery Junction, we hold many center-wide events throughout the year to promote peer-socialization, family values, and creativity. Each classroom also holds holiday parties and celebrations. Speak to your child’s teacher to see what is coming up!
There are also certain days throughout the year that we are closed for Inservice and Holidays. These dates are listed below.

Upcoming Events
Parents Night Out - Reoccuring Througout the Year
Parents Night Out is an event we hold once a month, generally from 6pm to 10pm. This is a time where parents can have some time to themselves while their children are having a safe night of fun with some friends from the center. During parents night out we provide food and beverages, and children are able to participate in various activities, crafts, games, and watch movies. Be sure to ask your child’s teacher for sign-up information and costs!
Holiday Operations
The center will be closed (or operate on a modified schedule) on the following days:
- Memorial Day – Closed
- Independence Day – Closed
- Labor Day – Closed
- Thanksgiving Day – Closed
- Christmas Eve – Closed at 1:00pm
- Christmas Day – Closed
- New Year’s Day – Closed
If a holiday listed above falls on a Saturday, we will be closed on the Friday before the holiday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, we will be closed on the Monday after the holiday.
In-Service Days
Discovery Junction will be closed for two staff in-service days each year. Full-time children will be charged the 4-day rate for these weeks:
- 3rd Monday of February
- 3rd Friday of July
Thanksgiving Feast
This is a time for all the families at Discovery Junction to come together to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. The feast is provide through donations from the families at Discovery Junction and the meal is prepared by each classroom. Most of the children make feast costumes to wear during the feast.
Easter Egg Hunt
Every year we have an egg hunt, sometimes located at the center, and sometimes located at a nearby field. Specific egg hunts are made for each age group.
Trunk-or-Treat
In the month of October, the staff at Discovery Junction get dressed up and decorate the parking lot to host a Trunk-or-Treat for all the kids of Discovery Junction.
